TARGET 101

Target is a great place to save money because they accept up to two coupons per item as long as one is a TARGET (STORE) COUPON and one is a MANUFACTURER COUPON.

On Target’s website they have coupons you can print that are mostly just Target (store) coupons.

For example:

I picked up a coupon for A&D Diaper cream last week that was a manufacturer coupon of $2.00/1 A&D product, and on Target’s website in the coupon section there was a store coupon for $1.00/1 A&D product.

The A&D Diaper Cream was $3.54.

I used both coupons at check out making the diaper cream ONLY $.54!!!

HOW TO GET MORE TARGET STORE COUPONS:

You can sign up for Target Mobile coupons here. You would then just show your phone to the cashier and they will be able to scan the code and you will get your discount.

THIS IS NOT A CREDIT CARD! THIS IS A DEBIT CARD STRAIGHT FROM YOUR OWN CHECKING ACCOUNT TO RECEIVE  AN ADDITIONAL 5% OFF ALL YOUR PURCHASES AT TARGET!! READ BELOW

Target offers 5% off your current purchase and each additional purchase by signing up for their REDCard (Debit Card). Here are some more details about the card and how it works:

  • Apply for the REDcard at the register. There’s no credit check, and all you need is a voided check to verify the routing number and bank account number of your primary checking account. I am assuming most people will qualify for it. They probably just take this precaution to make sure you have a legit primary checking account.
  • Link your primary checking account to the Target card.
  • Every time you use the Target debit card at Target retail stores, you’ll save 5% off your purchases with a few minor exceptions. One key thing to note is that it can only be used at Target. Also, it’s not 5% “cash back”; it’s a 5% discount off your entire purchase at the point of sale. This is a great feature compared to other cash back cards.
  • The debit card works just like your bank’s debit card. It’ll draw the money from your primary checking account with no additional fee.
  • When you use your REDcard to fill five prescriptions at Target Pharmacy, you’ll earn 5% off a day of Target shopping. Add that to the 5% off you already get with your REDcard purchases, and watch the savings stack up.

There’s no annual fee or any fees at all for that matter. It’s basically just a debit card for your Target purchases.

Why are they doing this and how can they afford to offer 5% off for every purchase? I’m not sure if the 5% off reward will last forever, but I do know that retailers get charged a lot of fees when you swipe a credit card at the register. My guess is that they are saving a lot of money in transaction fees.

And, of course, having a 5% off debit card may make you more likely to do more of your future shopping at Target instead of at its competitors’ stores.

For any other questions or concerns you can head over here! If you want to do this online you can, but you will not get your card for a little while so I recommend doing it in store so that you can start saving right away!!!
