WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH EXPIRED COUPONS??! CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT!!

IT DOES NOT COST ANYMORE TO MAIL OVERSEAS TO THE BASE THEN IT WOULD TO MAIL TO YOUR NEIGHBOR BECAUSE U.S MILITARY BASES ARE CONSIDERED AN AMERICAN TERRITORY!

With all the coupons that I have that expire it seems a waste to throw them away! Well, it is! So THE FRUGAL LIFE OF A TRUCKER WIFE has adopted a military base to send our coupons to!

You can do it too! This is for all THE FRUGAL LIFE readers and I hope we can show our service men and women how much we appreciate them by helping them and their families save money!

U.S. Military can use coupons up to 6 months after expiration. So, gather your coupons that expired in the last month or 2 and send them to…

  • CAFAP
    ACS
    CMR 427, Box 19
    APO AE 09630

This is a U.S. Army Military Base in Vicenza, Italy!

(You will always be able to access this information directly from anywhere on my page by clicking the link at the top that says EXPIRED COUPONS?!)

MAILING:

  • The cheapest way to send your coupons is via “Parcel Post
  • A fast method of shipment is to use the Priority Mailer that the Post Office has. They have envelopes/boxes that allow you to place as much in them as you can for a fee.
  • Contact your local post office for the current prices per pound and best suggested methods of mailing. They will give you this information by phone.

How To Mail (best method):

1.  Obtain a “Priority Mail” pouch or box.

2.  Place base address (base page) and your return address on the mailer.

3.  Fill out customs form 2976-A (From, To, 1 = Manufacturer’s Coupons, 2 = Pkg, 4 = $0.00, 5 = Gift, 9 = $0.00, 10 = Return to Sender, 13 = sign & date)

4.  Take to Post Office and mail.

Customs Form Needed

The U.S.P.S. also requires Customs Form 2976-A be attached to the outside of the mailer when sending directly to a base overseas. Use the description “Manufacturer’s Coupons” and record the value as “–$0.00–”. Be sure to check the “Gift” box on the form and for them to return the coupons if there are problems if using Priority Mail. This will allow time to resend them to another base.

::::PLEASE READ::::

Military bases receiving the coupons ask that you neatly clip the coupons (which you will want to do anyway to save on postal charges) and sort them into “food” and “non-food” categories. The “food” category should contain coupons for anything that humans would eat while the “non-food” category would be everything else (pet food coupons would be considered an “non food” item)

Once separated, add up the value of all the coupons in each category. Place the coupons from each category into a zip lock plastic bag and write the category and the dollar value of all the coupons on the outside of the bag in permanent ink.
